The last two types of Peppers (Thunderbolt and Emerald Giant) have been transplanted.  Of the original 100 seed cells, 70 have now been transplanted to peat pots.  Next step will be temporary moves to the outdoors once the weather warms up considerably.

Next up for transplanting are the California Wonder Peppers.  Again fourteen made the cut, the rest headed to the showers (do baseball announcers still say that when a pitcher is removed from a game?).

"Fill It Up, Mack"

Today I filled up my gas tank for the first time in 2021.  The last time I was at a gas station was December 27.  That's 72 days.  Price of gas in December was $ 2.099.  Today it cost me $ 2.629.  Quite the difference.

This was not a record however.  On March 12, 2020, I filled up my tank as usual not knowing that the next day most of New Jersey would be locking down.  The next time I gassed up was June 2.  82 days.

The "Big Daddy" Peppers were the next to go to the peat pots.  Fourteen moved on, six went to the compost bin.

The 2021 Garden - Phase 6

Although the tomato seeds were planted a week after the peppers, they shot right past them in terms of height.  Therefore, they earned the right to be transplanted to the peat pots first.  For the 20 cells of each vegetable, 14 will be transplanted to a peat pot.  The rest will unfortunately be euthanized.

Baseball Trivia - 7

Q: Three players have been the last hitter of two World Series.  One was Boss Schmidt (1907 & 1908).  Another was Edgar Renteria (1997 & 2004).  The third is a Hall of Famer.  He struck out to end the 1925 World Series and then won the 1935 World Series with a walk-off RBI single.  He did this on two different teams.  Who was he?

A: Goose Goslin

Teddy Boy

Were the people at CPAC even familiar with Star Wars, Star Trek, or William Wallace?  Perhaps Teddy Boy should have used Cousin Eddie, Carl Spackler, Navin R. Johnson, and Doug Kinney #4 instead.
