When I was growing up, occasionally our supper would consist only of pot pies, those little 4 inch pies in the tin pan. My mother would throw a bunch in the oven; I usually got my fill with three of them. At that time there were chicken, turkey, and beef pot pies. To identify them my mother would scratch a "C", a "B", or a "T" in the crust. Recently I discovered new types of pies in the frozen food section.
